Happy New Year! One thing we do on New Years is drop a bread ball from our chandelier. Some other things we do are, open stockings and have a toast with grape juice. This year we added eating doughnuts at 1 AM. Crazy? Only about as crazy as the rest of the world on New Years! 🙂 Here is the recipe I used to make the doughnuts. I got it off this website: http://deep-fried.food.com/recipe/krispy-kreme-doughnuts-copycat-51199 I have to say though, I did make some cherry pie filled ones. I used my dad’s pie filling recipe. His is below.
Cherry Pie Filling:
2 cups of cherry halves (pitted)
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of corn startch
2 tbsp. of water
Put ingredients on stove and mix until it starts to boil. Allow to boil until the liquid becomes thick.
To Fill doughnuts:
Here is where it gets tricky! My dad and I used a medicine squirty thing used to give babies medicine. (you know they almost look like shots) We washed it and then he cut the tip off so it was a tube. Then we used the tube to inject the cherry filling. Messy, but oh so worth it! Happy New Year! Yay, 2014!
Enjoy!

Krispy Creme doesn’t light a candle to these. Kloe made them, and none of us in the family could stop eating! If you want to make a dessert that’s going to totally wow everyone, this is your recipe.
Thanks, Kloe! You are a wonderful sister and an amazing cook/ baker! You’re also a good friend.

Thanks, Kelsie!
Hi Kloe. I will definitely have to give this a try. I never really liked Krispy Kreme donuts much, but your picture makes me want to try making these. Hmmm….wonder if I can pull it off for a special treat for kids before they start their spring break!
Yay! Let me know how they turn out for you. Personally I thought they were way better than Kripsy Kreme, so hopefully you like them. My family adored the treat. Nothing like a homemade doughnut! 🙂
