Summer Surprise: Strawberry Lemonade

strawberry-lemonade-homade-recipe

Last summer I made some good old-fashioned lemonade…not really following any recipe, just instinct. It turned out awesome, so I decided to go for it again, but this time I added strawberries! I mean-what could go wrong? My family absolutely loved it and asked for it all summer long! It is the perfect combo of strawberry and lemon flavor. It is also very thirst quenching for a hot day. I made the first batch of the season Thursday and we already bought the ingredients to make it again.  I tried to set a direct recipe in my head this time so I could share it with others. I hope your home enjoys this recipe as much as we do!

Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients:

3 lemons

18 strawberries

6 cups of water

1 cup of sugar

Directions:

Squeeze the lemons and strawberries and pour juice into a pitcher. (To squeeze the strawberries, cut into smaller chunks and press them against your lemon squeezer.) Add the water and sugar; mix well. Allow the strawberries to sit in the lemonade before serving. This step is really important: the strawberry flavor comes out much stronger if they have a chance to set. Chill before serving.

  3. Yum! I have been wanting to try strawberry lemonade–I keep using the strawberries for other things before I get to making it though! 🙂

  4. what pretty pictures. Thanks for sharing your “secrets” 🙂 We had a party recently and I had my mom pick up the lemonade. She bought a Country Time mix and it was strawberry lemonade. Am sure yours is MUCH better!

  5. You know how to make lemonade! Adding strawberries, now we are talking 😉 I also really like that you don’t have. like, 6 cups of sugar to 6 cups of water! It makes me want to serve this to my brothers on hot days, knowing I’ll be refreshing them without inducing a sugar coma 😉 Fantastic recipe Khloe!

    • Thank you so much! I know what you mean, stuff that has too much sugar is really gross. It also takes away from the lemon flavor when too much is added. You should make it! Your brothers would love it…mine did! 🙂

  6. Kloe this looks so refreshing! We love lemonade and strawberry lemonade …especially my son. He will love for me to make this! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  7. Ooh I was just thinking this warm weather was making me want a nice cold glass of cider, but now I want a nice cold glass of this! Looks so good, thanks for sharing

  8. Kloe!! Welcome .welcome..welcome to Fiesta Friday!! I’m so happy to see you here…and this lemonade? Wow, it is fabulous. Do you know that I have tried a bunch of times to make lemonade, and it always turns out so bitter! I’m definitely trying this, and maybe you can help me finally make the best lemonade!! This is such a perfect treat to bring to FF table, and I know that everyone will love it just as much as I do!! I love your photos.. so, so pretty. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us… Have a lovely week!! ❤

    • Thanks so much! I am glad you like it! I know some lemonade is too watery or doesn’t have enough flavor. Don’t worry this one certainly does. 🙂 I hope you try it and like it. Let me know how it goes. I’m sure you will nail it…You are awesome! ♥ -Kloe

  9. Yum, reminds me of all the extra berries I have kicking around the fridge. I’m thinking virgin daiquiris too (like I made for my niece Julia when we were in Hawaii last July! Cheers!

    • Yes, this recipe will take care of all of those berries. Go ahead and use whatever ones you can find. I am sure it would turn out wonderfully. Those Hawaiian drinks sound awesome! We had the virgin ones one our Tropical Vacation last year and they were amazing! Cheers to you too!

  10. Ahhh! So refreshing, Kloe! I could use two glasses of this. Oh wait! Make it three. 😀 Thanks for sharing and hope you have a lovely day! ❤
