Starbuck’s Clone: Mocha Frappé

mocha-frappe-starbucks-clone-recipeLadies and Gents! I present to you a Kloe’s Kitchen original recipe!!! I haven’t come out with one of these since vegetarian chili. (Which I  have re-photographed since it was a post from the earlier days of the blog….so you can look- I won’t be embarrassed)

Alright, time to confess: I have never been to Starbuck’s. Whew! That feels better. Now I think Starbuck’s is a Love/Hate mess, but I suppose I don’t know it well enough to pick a side. What I do know is I have had a Starbuck’s Mocha Frappé in a jar from Walmart and I love it!!! I hope you all know what I am talking about because it is goodness in a jar…

My sister bought me one last week when we were out together and I decided it was something I wanted  needed to recreate in my kitchen at home. So, yesterday I tried it and I think I came up with something pretty close. I gave it to my family to test and give me the honest comparison and they all agreed it was a good clone. So you have the official “Sundberg” approval.

It is milky, coffee-y, and sweet! Need I say more??

KLOE’S KITCHEN: MOCHA FRAPPÉ

Servings: 2 large cups or 1 Kerr Jar  Time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

♥ 4 Cups of Milk
♥ 2 Tsp. of Instant Coffee
♥ 3 Tbsp. of Hershey’s Caramel Ice Cream Syrup
♥ 3 Tbsp. of Hershey’s Chocolate Ice Cream Syrup

DIRECTIONS:

Heat 2 cups of milk until coffee can dissolve well. (I heated it in the microwave for 1:45 minutes.) Dissolve 2 Tsp. of instant  coffee and mix well. Add 3 Tbsp. of caramel syrup, and 3 Tbsp. of chocolate syrup. Mix well.

Fill two cups with a few ice cubes and 1 cup of milk each. (Unless you are using a jar; then fill the jar with a few ice-cubes and 2 cups of milk.) Add the heated coffee mixture to the prepared cups/jar. Mix well and serve cold.

  1. This is awesome – thanks for the recipe! My 13-year-old is forever wanting these fancy-pants coffee drinks and I hate paying for them. Now I won’t have to 🙂

  2. I love mocha frappes too! Now I’ll be able to enjoy them more with this homemade version–I bet it’s even better than Starbucks! 🙂
