I have seen these tours on various blogs for the past few weeks and I was really intrigued by them. It was a joy for me to discover different writing styles and peek into the lives of those I have gotten to know by reading their stories. I was pleasantly surprised when Indu from Indu’s International Kitchen asked me to participate. This tour is a wonderful way to get tips and learn about other blogger’s goals and practices. So, let’s get started!
First of all, I want to say that Indu has a lovely blog with beautiful recipes! She lives up to her “international” title by trying all sorts of new foods. She is a brave one! Please do go visit her site here.
Here are the questions that I have been asked to address in this tour. These are the same questions that I will ask the nominees:
1. What am I working on?
The same thing most of us bloggers are doing together-making or re-creating recipes! I enjoy finding meals and snacks my family and I would enjoy and building them up in the kitchen. I also try to be practical about it and not get to crazy by only making desserts four or five times a week. My future goals that I am working towards are owning a .com domain and a custom designed blog. (but since I am only sixteen I suppose I have some time, right?)
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
My products are made for families to enjoy together. I want to encourage people to make a meal or food that everyone can share. I also truly believe that my kitchen is the best place to be. When I am creating something I always have one or two siblings hanging around to help me or chat while I work. I try to share a little bit of that beauty in my introductions to the recipe…but sometimes a moment cannot be captured, just treasured.
3. Why do I write what I do?
Well, I started cooking and baking seriously two years ago. Part of what really got me into it was reading other blogs and seeing all of the photos and the stories behind the recipes. I decided I wanted to share that with people too.
4. How does my writing process work?
- Select a recipe to make
- Make it!
- Photograph it
- Edit the photos on my laptop
- Share my thoughts or stories about it
- Post it!
Not any amazing tips guys, sorry! Just always check for grammar errors…yeah, I am bad at grammar!
Okay, now to introduce two other bloggers who have graciously decided to tour with me! They are in no particular order:
Liz from Food Communications: Liz is a woman with spunk and lots of creativity! I have loved watching her come up with and try things that are new and exciting. (Like marshmallows!) Liz enjoys showing people cooking can be orderly and fun. Check out her blog and you will see why we all follow her!
Radhika from Sugar n Spice: Radhika is special! She was one of the first people I met in the “blogging world.” She helped me figure out widgets. (crazy things!) Her blog is amazing with different recipes all the time! Her photos are lovely and her helpful, happy attitude echoes through her posts.
